About Me

A specialist in immigration law for more than two decades, attorney Christopher Stender and his colleagues at Stender & Lappin, PC, represent clients from a variety of cultures. Mr. Stender offers a particularly strong international perspective, devising vigorous and novel legal defenses to seekers of work visas and deportation hearing bonds. Christopher Stender’s substantial knowledge base derives partly from a three-year stint working inside the Immigration and Naturalization Service as Assistant Chief Counsel after finishing law school. Having pursued postgraduate studies in Germany and practiced law in the American Southwest, Mr. Stender speaks fluent German and Spanish. Christopher Stender and his fellow attorneys mostly represent clients in immigration courts along the U.S.-Mexico border; in the California towns of San Pedro, Otay Mesa, Imperial, and El Centro; and federal courts in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Stender & Lappin, PC, also maintains an office in Phoenix, from which its lawyers can readily assist clients in Tucson, Eloy, and Florence.

Besides living in Germany for two years, immigration attorney Christopher Stender has traveled to Europe, Central America, and Canada, where he has family. He supports various charitable and immigrant organizations, such as Homeless Outreach, Tijuana Schools Mission, Grace Point Church, Cesar Chavez Elementary School, and the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project. An active member of the New York and Connecticut state bars, Christopher Stender maintains affiliation with both the San Diego and Arizona chapters of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). A former Vice President of the Arizona chapter of AILA, Mr. Stender also served on the chapter’s Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. He enjoys playing racquetball and reading in his spare time.
